OVERVIEW
Originally conceived as a competitor to Ferrari and Lamborghini supercars, the first series Acura NSX took the world by storm. Through the 1990s and into the early 2ks, the first generation NSX occupied a unique production run with nearly two decades of production. News of the second generation offering began in 2011 but the first production cars would not arrive until 2017 as Acura engineers continued to seek out the best and most refined features for their flagship offering. The new NSX debuted as a tour-de-force of engineering and technology far surpassing the first-generation examples entering the world of hypercar performance with hybrid technology, all-wheel drive, electric motor assistance, and superlative chassis management systems. Automotive press celebrated the NSX for power, performance, and award-winning design, but also for the ease of use as a daily driver.
In addition to the striking and advanced exterior design, the combined twin-turbocharged 3.5 L V6 engine works in harmony with three onboard electric motors which provide a combined 573 hp output capable of propelling the car to 60 mph in an astonishing 3.1 seconds via the 9-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. Quiet for daily use but capable of unleashing immediate power, the NSX electric-power assist steering and variable suspension mode settings made for a superb road car with crisp steering, incredible brakes, and surprising comfort for a two-place sports car.
The interior of the car also features a 7” infotainment touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, multi-speaker stereo system, climate controls, power seats, front and rear parking sensors, a surprisingly spacious trunk, and interior storage for various smaller items. For 2019, new body color grille treatment and various trim details were improved, and larger front and rear stabilizers fitted along with new software for the Sport Hybrid performance system.
This NSX arrived at Lyle Pearson Auto Show, Boise, Idaho in November 2018 where it was prepared for the first and only owner, a resident of Sun Valley, Idaho, who purchased it in January 2019. The car was optioned with Carbon Ceramic brakes and red brake calipers, and delivered with carbon fiber exterior and interior trim, selected Alcantara trim including headliner, heated mirrors, Bluetooth audio with streaming, Navigation, and numerous other features. Under current and singular ownership this NSX has been stored indoors accumulating minimal miles over the past five years mostly for local use. The first factory recommended service was performed July 2022 with 5,340 miles including an oil and filter change, fluids and filters checked, air filter replaced, and all systems inspected. The car currently displays 6,600 miles.
Today this beautiful NSX presents in excellent condition. The white finish is accented with red leather sport seats and carbon fiber exterior trim. The factory original white paint is mirror smooth throughout with no notable flaws in the finish apart from minor front rash at the left bumper corner. The body is impeccable with factory fit to the pristine body panels; doors, trunk, and hood which also exhibit smooth closure and tight factory fit along the front and rear bumper seams. The exterior carbon fiber details add a high-tech touch to the dynamic design which incorporates exceptional cooling and aero advantages derived from years of Honda F1 technology. Excellent clear lenses, beautiful details, and original factory glass including the unmarked windshield complete the exterior. The emblems, dynamic design elements, and gorgeous 19”/20” alloy wheels are in excellent condition with very minor curb rash visible on the right front wheel. The beautiful wheels are backed by large diameter Carbon Fiber disc brakes topped by optional red calipers. Per factory specifications, the car is outfitted with a set of Continental 245/35 ZR19 front and 305/30 ZR 20 rear tires.
The interior shows virtually no signs of wear and excellent supple red leather finishes on the seats, dash, and beautifully preserved door panels. Accented with both Alcantara and Carbon Fiber interior trim, the leather seating surfaces are like new including all working seat adjustments and heating features, illuminated dashboard, Navigation, and touch screen display. The factory sound system features multiple speakers and superb sound when not being distracted by the impressive twin-turbocharged engine and 9-speed dual-clutch transmission delivering their own high-performance music. The overall fit and finish of the interior is fresh, contemporary, and very well laid out. The look and feel confirms all the traits of a low mile, premium sports car presenting essentially as new.
Lifting the dramatically sloped engine lid, the mid-mounted 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine is finished with sculpted screens, protective air management shrouding, and satin finished carbon fiber trim. The engine compartment presents beautifully with excellent detailing and while much of the traditional engine features are shrouded for air management advantages, the superb engineering offered in these amazing road cars creates a truly fine combination of technical and artistic mastery. Behind the engine, a carpeted trunk is suitable for weekend luggage or shopping trips. The underside of the car presents essentially as new with excellent finishes, lightweight cast alloy suspension components, and correct factory fittings as well as factory installed aerodynamic chassis panels for precise air management to aid in mid-engine and Carbon Ceramic disc brake cooling.
The car starts, stops, and drives like new. Performance is almost other-worldly with ear-to-ear grinning acceleration, fantastic braking, and comfort conveniences that defy the level of premium performance offered against other cars at double or triple the price - all while running air conditioning, premium sound, safety features, and surprisingly - 23mpg fuel economy. This car is accompanied by a set of factory owner’s manuals.
