Let's just get right to it - For the 575 Superamerica, the patented roof is the most defining feature of the car. Made out of carbon fiber, Ferrari calls it Revocromico, which helps describe both of its main characteristics – it rotates to open, and has electrochromic glass. The opening mechanism is elegantly simple – it flips open 180 degrees on a single axis in less than 10 seconds. The glass has an electrochromic layer allowing adjustment to the opaqueness – from light to dark in just 60 seconds.
Just 559 examples were produced worldwide, with approximately 170 of those for the USA market. Ferrari billed the car as the “World’s Fastest Convertible” when it came out, boasting an impressive top speed of 199 mph.
Based on the 575M Maranello, the Superamerica features that model’s upgraded engine and suspension, ensuring further performance and exclusivity. With 533hp on tap from the 5.7L V12 engine, this presents a true Ferrari experience whenever called upon. With the flick of the Sport button, the active damping suspension gets tighter, traction control gets a longer leash, and the F1 transmission reduces shift times to 180 milliseconds.
