A “car guy since birth”, Hans has enjoyed a career arch that has had automobiles at its core since high school. After a stint working in the retail industry, Hans decided that he wanted to work on Porsches, gaining employment at Barrier Motors as a technician in 1998. After a few years at the renowned Chris’ German Auto Service, he was hired by Vintage Racing Motors in 2001, first as a restoration and racing technician, and then as Collection Manager. In this role Hans was responsible for the daily operations of one of the world’s most important automotive collections. His twelve-plus years spent with VRM offered incomparable experience, including entry as a participant into many of the world’s finest international motoring events.
While growing into a well-respected member of the collector car community, Hans was able to add sales experience with VRM, and in 2013 was hired as a Specialist by Gooding & Co., the industry’s leading auction house. During his decade-long stint with Gooding, Hans was a key member of a team consistently offering the world’s finest motorcars publicly at venues such as Pebble Beach, Amelia Island and Hampton Court Palace, as well as discreetly by private treaty. He was also a valuable, forward-facing asset utilized for media relations, appearing on numerous podcasts, in live interviews, and quoted in industry publications. Hans also spent many years introducing cars and facilitating sales from Gooding & Company’s auction rostrum.
Hans has spent the last 23 years dealing with a wide variety of marques and makes, making him well-equipped to converse on all manner of collector cars. His passion for cars, customer service, and operating with the utmost level of integrity fits Northwest European perfectly and allows us to operate at a level that is unique in the industry.
