1971 Alfa Romeo GT Junior Twin-Spark

The Alfa Romeo Giulia GT, GT Junior, and GTV were part of the legendary 105/115 series coupes, and were produced in original “Step-Nose” form between 1964 and 1971. These models were based on the Giulia sedan but featured a sportier, fastback coupe design by Giorgetto Giugiaro, who was working for Bertone at the time.

The body shell was completely restored and finished in Dutch Blue with a white nose accented with a lime green pinstripe. All rubber seals were replaced, as was the windshield. The interior was finished without a back seat, a bolt-in roll bar fitted in its place over custom black carpeting. OMP low-back seats were added with tasteful corduroy inserts. The dashboard was restored and custom wood inlays were built by the car’s owner. A leather Momo Prototipo steering wheel adds the perfect interface between driver and machine.

This restoration included myriad additional upgrades, the most significant of which was the switch to a 2.0L “Twin-Spark” engine that the owner imported from Europe and then rebuilt for the purpose. These engines were never sold in the US, and they represent the ultimate iteration of the original Alfa Romeo twin-cam four cylinder. Normally fuel injected, this twin-spark was fitted with a custom intake manifold with newly produced Weber 40 DCOE carburetors.

Numerous components from Alfaholics in the UK were fitted from their extensive catalog of performance parts. These include the 4-piston big brake kit, electronic programmable ignition system, GTA-style mesh grill, full stainless exhaust system, an aluminum fuel cell, and 15” GTA-replica wheels.
