After nearly 60 years of performance achievement and engineering excellence, the Porsche 911 continues to reign as the most iconic and widely recognized premium sports cars ever produced. In 2012, the seventh generation 911 marked a milestone in the 911 lineage. The 991 was offered in several performance variations, but among the most desirable was the 3.0 liter GTS. The twin turbocharged engine put out an impressive 424 hp coupled to the split-second shifting capabilities of the PDK transmission. 0-60 times were an eye-watering 4.0 seconds, while a top speed of 187 mph made Autobahn history with the air conditioning on and a comfortably stable ride.

Contemporary motor press conceded that the Porsche GTS could very well be the best performance sports car for the money. Few if any could argue especially considering the ease and comfort experienced as a road car in daily driving conditions. Competitively priced when new, low-mileage pre-owned examples are becoming more sought after by enthusiasts seeking favorably priced instant gratification without the ordering delays and increased costs of a brand-new example.
