Showing only 3900 miles on the odometer, this 997.2 GT3 RS is one of the lowest mileage and spectacular examples currently available. Factory graphic delete cars are very rare – only a handful are known to exist. They show off the pure lines of the car, and some could argue that an RS should be plain white in a nod to Porsche Motorsport cars.
The 997.1 RS was introduced in 2007, followed by the 997.2 RS cars in 2010/11. The motoring press was over the moon about the car at launch, and as the years have gone by, many still say it is the most driver focused chassis produced, including present day machinery. Commonly referred to as the last great analog Porsche 911, the 997 RS cars were of course only offered with a manual transmission.
Regarding the incremental changes in the 997.2 GT3 RS, such as our car here, Chris Perkins with Road & Track sums it up well – “The biggest change between this car and its predecessor is the engine. Displacement grew from 3.6 to 3.8 liters, and despite that small increase, there's a world of difference. It makes 450 horsepower and revs like crazy up to 8500 RPM. Surprisingly, it's tractable too, even if its torque peak of 317 lb-ft at 6750 RPM would suggest otherwise. You'd buy the car just for the engine.”
