OVERVIEW

Unveiled in 2015 as the replacement to the 458, the 3.9-liter twin turbocharged V8 488 was the first mid-engine Ferrari to feature this potent package since the debut of the legendary F40 nearly 30 years earlier. The 488 featured a gorgeous Pininfarina body design integrating a host of advanced aerodynamic features that increased downforce, reduced drag, and allowed for better cooling. Aerodynamic improvements were not limited to the exterior body design as the underside of the 488 included vortex generators used to reduce high speed air pressure and a rear diffuser that functioned with active trim flaps controlled by microprocessors.

On the body surface, the bi-plane side intake vents directed air from the upper chamber to the turbochargers, while the lower section vent forced air to exit around the taillights; a clever and stylish way to reduce drag. Every aspect of the exterior design took air flow into consideration. Even the door handles were designed with aerodynamic effect in mind. Combining the latest in aerodynamics and premier materials technology, mechanical advances in the mid-mounted engine coupled with the dual-clutch 7-speed F1 gearbox resulted in 660hp output making the 488 capable of achieving a 205 mph top speed and 0-60 mph times in a blistering 3.0 seconds.

Beautifully executed with reverence to previous Ferrari models and an eye on the future, the 488 delivered to such a level of excellence that it was awarded Motor Trend’s “Best Driver’s Car” while Top Gear celebrated the 488 GTB with their coveted “Supercar of the Year, 2015” award. And, while press accolades continued unchallenged through 2019 and subsequent variants arrived in different trim during the four-year model run, the 488 GTB remains today one of the most advanced cars ever offered, not just by Ferrari, but certainly so even when compared against more highly priced rivals.

This particular 488 is a one owner example with the rare distinction of having been previously retained by Ferrari North America as one of their exclusive corporate cars. Currently showing 3,400 miles, this Ferrari still remains under factory warranty which extends to May 16, 2022 as part of the “New Power Warranty” offered under Ferrari’s Warranty program. The car also remains under Ferrari Genuine Maintenance Program coverage, extending for seven years. Among the many standard features offered on this amazing car, massive Brembo carbon ceramic brakes, E-Diff, Side Slip Control with F1 Trac systems, and LED front and rear lighting, the overall package for this particular car is further enhanced with extra cost convenience and design options, making it a truly unique Ferrari.

With less than 3,400 miles showing, this spectacular Ferrari appears essentially as new in every respect. The paintwork is vivid and glossy throughout with deep reflections highlighted by yellow Scuderia fender shields and dramatic red finish contrasted against the beautiful glass surfaces. The front of the car, forward of the A pillar, has been treated with a clear protective film and the entire car has been professionally finished with a protective ceramic coating. Other than a few typical minor underside air dam scuffmarks, the car remains unmarked throughout the exterior. The lighting and glass are clear and crisp with excellent detailing and superb luster. The beautiful alloy wheels are in excellent condition showing no curb marks or edge damage. The various emblems, logos, and design details are in exceptional condition again, as with all details surrounding the car, appearing essentially as new.

The interior is both visually and technologically remarkable. The black leather Daytona seats are accented by white stitching and contours reminiscent of the legendary Daytona, aptly named for Ferrari’s wins at this illustrious racetrack. As the low mileage will attest, there are no visible signs of wear in any areas other than a few minor scuff marks on the door sills, very likely contributed by the soles of Paolo Scafora brand Italian leather shoes, favored by many a Ferrari executive. The dashboard is optioned with the yellow tachometer, trimmed with optional white stitching, and fronted by the Manettino steering wheel, derived from F1 controls complete with the LED strobe shifting indicator nestled into the top of the steering wheel rim. Handsomely trimmed and perfectly suited to the exquisite exterior, the interior is very much in harmony with the sporting features of the dynamic body design.

Viewable through the clear view engine hatch, the engine compartment and 3.9-liter twin-turbocharged engine have been exceptionally well-maintained and properly detailed, with no apparent alterations since new. All factory engine markings and labels are in place and in excellent condition including the alloy castings and bespoke Ferrari engine features that define decades of superlative mechanical artistry. The underside of the car is further supportive of the low miles with no significant evidence of use to the nearly new aerodynamic shrouds and suspension components. Even the Pirelli P Zero tires appear essentially as new.

Since its celebrated debut, the 488 Ferrari has not only cemented Ferrari as the leader in exceptional performance cars, the very best of these cars has already become highly sought after in part because of their amazing performance but also because they remain one of the most visually stunning road cars ever built. The opportunity to acquire an essentially new Ferrari 488 GTB with former Ferrari Corporate history, just one previous owner, and a substantial array of factory options rarely comes along. Developed with premier technical features, captivating design, and astonishing performance, this beautifully maintained Ferrari is truly one of the very best available today.
