Known for legendary engineering efficiently packaged into capable high-performance sportscars, Porsche has always taken risks to establish new and innovative designs. When the Boxster appeared in 1996, it was the first production street Porsche specifically developed as a roadster. The mid-engine layout, lightweight construction, and attractive price, made the Boxster a popular volume seller throughout the world from 1996-2003, giving Porsche much-needed sales volume critical to their financial health.
Between 2012-2016, the third generation Boxster/Cayman (981) arrived. Key features included new exterior design elements, wider stance, a vastly improved and stiffer chassis, longer wheelbase, and a larger displacement engine. The 3.4 liter six-cylinder engine offered 315 hp and when coupled to the 7-speed PDK automatic transmission, delivered 0-60 times of 4.5 seconds. Of equal importance, the power convertible top was able to raise or lower in 9 seconds, making it one of the most convenient convertible models to transform from open to closed configuration. With the fourth generation Boxster configured with the four-cylinder engine, these third generation Boxsters have become the last of the original six-cylinder configuration, making them ideally suited as performance cars but even more desirable as future collectable examples.
This Boxster S was delivered new to Porsche Atlanta, Georgia in April 2014. According to a copy of the options listing, this car was optioned from the factory with the following features:

Maintained and serviced at the same purchasing dealership, the first owner retained the car for less than a year, selling it in November 2014 with just 2,800 miles. The car remained In the Minneapolis area, MN area accumulating just over 14,000 miles before being sold to the current owner, a Western Washington resident, in 2019. Vehicle services under current and prior ownership have been consistent including regular oil and filter changes, emissions and safety inspections.
In preparation for consignment, the car has just been given a major service at a local Porsche specialist (Chris’s German - Redmond, WA) including new spark plugs, drive belt, new air and cabin filters, oil and filter change, and brake fluid flush. A new set of Bridgestone performance tires have also been installed.
Finished in triple black colors, this Porsche Boxster S has traveled just 16,000 miles since new. The brilliant factory applied mirror-black paint is glossy throughout and properly detailed. The exterior finish shows only minor evidence of road use. The body is in excellent condition throughout showing superb factory fit to the doors, trunk, and hood. There is paint protection film (PPF) present on the front of the car, understood to be applied from new.
The script lettering, lenses, and original factory glass are also in excellent condition. The wheels are in very fine condition with no curb rash, factory finishes, red brake calipers, and optional colored crest wheel centers. The overall presence is further highlighted by the black convertible top and black leather interior which delivers an elegant tuxedo presence to this capable performance car.
The original interior remains in excellent condition with clean and supple black leather seats showing only nominal signs of use to the leather seat surfaces. The door panels, carpeting, rear trim, and door pockets are all in excellent condition, showing no evidence of fading, often seen in open cars with excessive sun exposure. The center console features the touch screen infotainment system, PDK selector, with switches and various knobs responsive to the touch. All features function properly including the climate system delivering filtered cabin heat and cool AC, both of which are very effective even when the top is down. The dashboard features the gorgeous and uniquely clustered Boxster instruments in exceptionally nice condition. The SportDesign steering wheel features multiple buttons which easily navigate onboard systems and information access. All interior features and instruments operate as designed including the optional Bose stereo system. The convertible top and sun visors are all uniformly preserved showing virtually no evidence of use in the creases and corners. The top raises and lowers smoothly and swiftly without motor strain or delay. The overall fit and finish of the interior is tidy and cohesive, reflective of a low mile car.
The car starts instantly and idles smoothly. The PDK transmission functions essentially as new with smooth shifting in any of the various modes. The potent 6-cylinder engine provides wonderful sounds even under mild acceleration, with welcomed composure, great roadholding, and confidence when encouraged at higher speeds. As the Boxster S is well known for exceptional handling, delightful ease of use, and Porsche character, this highly optioned offering is an excellent example for the sharp-minded enthusiast, eschewing lengthy waiting periods for brand-new cars accompanied by excessive new-car premiums.
