OVERVIEW

The Ferrari 360 Spider was the follow-up convertible model to the 360 Modena and was launched at the 2000 Geneva Motor Show. Styled by Pininfarina, the 360 was a departure from the pop-up headlight designs prevalent in the 1980s and 1990s on many Ferrari road going cars. The 360 also featured the company’s first aluminum spaceframe chassis and was a huge step forward in terms of performance and stiffness from the outgoing 355 series.

For the 360 model, Ferrari increased the capacity of its mid-mounted V8 to 3.6 liters, enabling it to produce 400bhp at 8500rpm. The performance result was a 0-62mph time of 4.5sec, which was 0.2sec quicker than the outgoing 355. Top speed was in excess of 180mph.

Our 360 Spider here was sold new in Scottsdale, Arizona, and remained there until 2015 when the most recent owner acquired it and brought it to Southern California. Having added just over 3,000 miles in the last few years, all service is complete and recent on the car. Current mileage shows at just over 13,200 on the odometer and confirmed with records.

Presented in the stunning color combination of Grigio Titanio over a grey and black leather interior, this 360 turns heads, but does it with style and class. The Daytona seats are iconic and a lovely option on this Spider.

Mechanically, the car has been serviced by GTO Engineering in Los Angeles the last several years. Notable major work includes the timing belt service in July 2017, along with a full F1 transmission out service and new clutch in July 2017. Most recently a full coolant and brake fluid flush service was completed in October 2018.

Cosmetically, the car is in great shape. A through detailing has been completed, including removing old clear bra material from around the car that had done its protection job however was yellowing with age. Replacement pieces were put on in the high impact areas, after noting that all paint appears to be original.

A known cosmetic problem area with the Ferrari 360 models is with the “sticky” black interior trim (an unfortunate problem of several European cars of this vintage) – this car has just had the all of the troublesome interior parts removed and refinished in March 2019 and presents near new inside.

Up front in the storage area, you will find the original complete tool kit, leather jacket portfolio with all original books, car cover, factory wind fairing, along with the tire service kit.

This 2001 Ferrari 360 Spider is offered on a clean and clear California title, clean Carfax, and with a document folder full of invoices from the current ownership period.
